Alice & Co Patterns are designed in London by mother and daughter, Alice and Lilia. They have a passion for making dressmaking a fun and enjoyable experience,  with quick and easy techniques! They encourage dressmakers and sewers alike to create stylish and unique outfits in the comfort of their own home and have a real desire for making modernised patterns that both fit well and make you feel good.

As part of our launch with Alice & Co Patterns, we asked Alice and Lilia a few questions about themselves and their business to get to know them a bit more!

QUESTION TIME!

What do you want people to know about your patterns?

“We’re very happy when our patterns are a good fit … we love it when someone makes something that we’d never thought of from them! We believe that patterns should be a launch pad for inspiration and hope people come to understand something about pattern cutting from them.”

What fabric do you like working with right now?

“We’re working with some beautiful prints from Storrs of London right now. … We keep promising ourselves to use up our towering stashes but wave something lovely in front of us and we never manage to resist! Alice travels a lots and considers haberdashery from foreign markets the best sort of souvenir.”

What are your personal favourites?

“Lilia loves her Copenhagen coats, she has one in cashmere with a matching hat and a raincoat version with a hood.

Alice has 5 Intrepid boiler suits and is planning more!”

What sewing tool can’t you live without?

“Alice’s favourite tool is a porcupine quill from Australia. She uses it to mark dart points, pockets etc on her patterns.

Lilia loves her pinking shears!”

What’s your biscuit of choice?

“A Tunnocks, of course!”
