Ready to take your fabric game to the next level? Say hello to our brand new Fabric Pleating class with expert tutor Kate Colin – a full-day creative adventure where you’ll dive into the beautiful, sculptural world of pleats!
We’ll kick off with a bit of inspo and history (hello, Issey Miyake), before getting hands-on creating your own pleated samples using traditional cardboard moulds and a variety of gorgeous fabrics – think viscose, felt, linen and even silk!
From simple accordion folds to more intricate herringbone patterns, we’ll explore loads of different pleat styles. You’ll experiment with heat and steam to make your pleats permanent, and even make your own reusable moulds (with the help of handy templates!) to take home.
You’ll leave with:

All tools, materials, and fabrics are included – but feel free to bring your own if you want to try pleating something special from your stash!
There will be a short break for lunch during this class, there is a lovely cafe within Morris Park if you want to treat yourself but as always tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
