Completed the beginners class and want to take your first steps into dressmaking but don’t feel you are quite ready for our make your own clothes class?!
Pick from one of our 3 recommended beginner friendly patterns and let us talk you through the first steps of dressmaking. From cutting out your pattern and fabric and understanding the terminology used and construction techniques – our tutor will take you through your first dressmaking project from start to finish. (You are welcome to join in even if you have some dressmaking experience too!).
What to bring:
- 1 Sewing pattern of your choice (download and print at home or buy the paper version from us at the studio) More information is in the email you will receive after you have booked on the class.
- Fabric for your garment (we can help you pick this in class if you prefer)
- Interfacing, threads, elastic and other notions are available in the studio (the pattern will tell you and we can help you with this)

Ive been a dressmaker for over 20 years and cant imagine my life without it!
You'll usually find me teaching the beginners classes, in a me made outfit of course, as these are my absolute favourite classes to teach. I love hearing everyone at the start telling me how rubbish they are going to be and then their face at the end of a project that they have made, its the best feeling!
My favourite patterns are the Zadie jumpsuit and the Kielo wrap dress.
