Give your neighbours pumpkin to talk about with these skele-fun Halloween crafts that are perfect for the kids to get involved with!
Show off your fang-tastic sewing and craft skills while making these terror-ific halloween crafts. Each tutorial is a perfect project for beginners and kids, so should feature easy to follow instructions. A great activity to get all the family involved in!
Pumpkin Emoji
The Crafting Fiend features a Sew a Softie tutorial on their blog for a Pumpkin Emoji, complete with a free pattern to download as well!
The project is so straight forward that you may allow your older kids to do it themselves. (Under your supervision of course.) The materials list is short meaning you don’t need to have a large budget to make these.
The pattern also comes with various “facial” features for you to pick and choose the perfect pumpkin face!
Black Cat
If you would prefer something more cute and less spooky, The Crafting Nook provides a tutorial for a Black Cat softie.
The tutorial includes an in-depth material list to ensure you have everything needed. They also include any changes they made to make the process easier for younger kids to follow.
If you want some originality to your cats, you can opt for different colours and fabric types!
Trick or Treat Bag

Happiness @ NR 4 has the most amazing tutorial to create your own little Pumpkin Frog Prince, and also includes a pattern for you to work with. This project doesn’t require many materials so is also good for when sewing on a budget!
You could even make a little pumpkin, frog friend as well if you scale down the pattern.
Felt Halloween Decorations
Do you and your kids prefer cute designs for Halloween rather than spooky? Then these mini felt decorations are a good project for you!
Paper-and-String have a downloadable pattern for a ‘Happy Pumpkin,’ ‘Happy Ghost,’ and ‘Happy Bat’ on their website. These decorations would look great hanging from handles around the house, or in your kids room!

Teach Your Kids How To Sew
If you’re looking for a simple and safe way to teach your kids how to sew, Coffee and Carpool offer an amazing starter project! All you need is a; styrofoam tray, kid-friendly blunt sewing needle, some yarn, mechanical pencil, tape and scissors.
This is a great way to get kids interested in sewing without the worry of them finding it hard to understand. The tutorial is so easy to follow your youngsters will be sewing pros in no time!
Bat Sock Puppet
This project doesn’t require many materials, most of which will be lying around the house in a drawer somewhere. Country Living give a brief tutorial for this cute sock puppet, and it doesn’t require any intricate stitches either!
Straight forward and easy to follow, this makes for a perfect beginners/kids first project. If you enjoy making this project, you could make a Bat Sock Puppet family by using different sized socks.
