What is the Met Gala? The Met Gala is the fashion worlds equivalent to the Oscars. It is held the first Monday in May each year and it is a night for all the best dressed celebrities to show off their designer looks to the eagerly waiting fashion lovers of the world.
Each year their is some AMAZING looks…but equally there is some very questionable outfit choices which in my opinion are stylist-sacking worthy!
This years theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Although not all guests stick to the theme, with others going all out – Just look at the photo below of Rihanna dressed as a super glamorous pope!
Here is some of the themed looks from last nights Met Gala. Don’t worry, for those of you not wanting to dress like a knight, angel or the pop, I will show the more ‘normal’ looks you can even recreate for yourself, on a budget!
Top Left: Rihanna in John Galliano
Top Right: Ariana Grande in Vera Wang
Bottom left: Blake Lively in Versace
Bottom Right: Jeremy Scott & Cardi B in Moschino
For those of you wanting to recreate the most talked about look from the evening, Zendaya in this ‘ Joan of arc’ inspired outfit by Versace, I have found the perfect pattern for you!
Jokes aside, here is the more ‘normal’ looks of the evening that you will be able to create yourself, without the designer price tag!
As always, be sure to let us know if you create any red carpet looks for yourself! You can tag us on social media or send them over to hello@sewconfident.co.uk
