The Mersis Dress is a shift dress for superstars drawing on 80's glam with generous shapes and peek-a-boo features that suggest more than they reveal. It features Dynasty style balloon sleeves, a deep V neck at the back neckline and mid-way V for the front neckline. The centre front seam includes a wide seam allowance which is topstitched down to enhance the long line from shoulders to hem. The centre front is finished with mitre corners and a split for longer lengths.

The Mersis is loose through the body with a slight taper in the dress length hemlines. The V necklines are purposefully cut to sit above most bra straps and to minimise slipping off the shoulder. Pockets are positioned on the front high hip to reduce lap-line bagging and maintain a streamlined shape.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Best suited for mid-lightweight fabrics that gather well. From soft cotton, poplins, drapey linens, silks twills, rayon, Tencel and other cellulose-based fibres. Super crispy fabrics may require more patience when easing the gussets.
