sew along hannah dress - 21st of june outfit
11 March

Here in the UK you will have heard by now Boris Johnsons ‘roadmap out of lockdown’ which ends, hopefully, the 21st of June. With the thought of picnics in March, beer gardens in April and pubs and clubs by June. Obviously we don’t know if these dates will remain although what we can tell you is, it’s time to start planning some great outfits!

MARCH: The picnic in the park with friends

Obviously we know this is all subject to change but it is nice to have a rough idea in the diary to help us get organised! So from the end of March not only will the weather (hopefully) start to pick up, we are able to meet outdoors!

This playsuit SC Jenny made is ideal for dressing up or down. The long sleeves will keep you warm as it isn’t summer weather just yet. The playsuit aspect also making you ‘game of rounders in the park’ ready. It will also stop any accidental flashing as you relax on your picnic blanket!.

Pattern: ‘Keilo wrap jumpsuit’ by NAMED patterns. It also comes with a lovely dress version and different options for sleeve length.

Fabric: Jenny used our Marl Polka Dot Viscose Jersey which you can purchase here. We also created some lovely fabric kits for the sew along we did for this pattern!

APRIL: The beer gardens/eating outdoors

I know a lot of people are looking forward to the idea of sitting outdoors with friends enjoying some brunch, or a gin or two!

Heading towards summer this is the perfect time to bring out the maxi dresses! Living in the UK beer gardens sound great until the April showers begin. With this in mind, maxi dresses are ideal to accessories for all weathers!

Pattern: By Hand London – ‘Hannah Dress’

Fabric: Stripy Palms Linen Chambray Fabric

21st OF JUNE: Pub/Club/Gig ready!

It may be ambitious but if all goes to plan we could be back at our local cocktail bar from 21st of June!

It has been so long since we had to dress up to go out. What do people even wear to go to a gig or the pub?! Lately SC Jenny made this stunning wrap top which we all agree would look lovely in either setting. With the option to make the sleeves as ‘dramatic’ as you want, this top is a joy.

Pattern: ‘Screwdriver top’ by our lady of leisure (we done this as one of our VIP club sew alongs. The illustrations in the instructions aren’t great at points but as you can see, totally worth it!)

Fabric: Anything light weight should do the trick, check out all the fabrics we sell here!
