Dressmaking: The Sew Along Sessions: Cambria Duster by Friday Pattern Co
Ever wondered what happens in a VIP sew-a-long?
Why not come join us for the newest addition to Sew Confident’s Sew-alongs – the Cambria Duster by Friday Pattern Company.
In this 7 hour class we will make this beautiful duster coat in your chosen fabric. The Cambria is a shin length, unlined duster that is perfect for layering. It features a dramatic, wide draped shawl-style collar. Tie the ties in back for a clean, shapely look, or wrap them around in front for a little more coverage. The coat should be made in a non-stretch woven fabric – softcoat or boucle will give you a cosy more structured look while a viscose or cotton would make for a beautiful draped effect – perfect for the beach! Opt for a binding in a vivid neon for a flash of colour that can be seen on rolled up sleeves and the vents or overlock edges for a simpler finish.
The Sew-a-long sessions are designed to make a good start on the project but please be aware you may not finish on the day, hemming and finishing cuffs etc will need to be completed at home or you can always book a Sewcial if you would like a bit more support with this!
We can even suggest some fabric if you are unsure what to choose.
Sandra started her sewing journey making quilts but has now ventured into the world of Dressmaking, bag making, homewares.... the list goes on!
There are just too many things to sew and she wants to give them all a go.
