This class will take place in our new studio in 68 Morris Park, 137 Rosyth Road, G5 0YE.
Always wanted to make your own curtains? Do you have high ceilings so can’t buy shop bought ones? Want something totally different and cushions to match without forking out thousands and thousands of pounds? Well this is the class for you!
In this class you will learn how to make lined curtains to fit a pole or a rail. We will be talking about the different header tapes, different linings and also how to measure your window and calculate your fabric requirements. We will be making small sample curtains in this class as even with our massive studio we don’t have the space to accommodate 4 people with 3m drop curtains!
You will leave with the skills and confidence required to make your own beautiful curtains for your home! Header tapes are included in the price of this class, all you need to bring is fabric for the mock curtains(or you can buy our fabric kit!).
What to bring:
- Mock curtain fabric (info will be emailed to you and we have kits you can buy)
- Basic sewing kit(scissors, pins, unpick etc)
If your class includes a short break for lunch there is a great cafe within Morris Park which is open Mon-Sat (8am-5pm), If your class falls on a Sunday we would recommend bringing your own lunch as other options are limited.
This class is for learning how to sew curtains from scratch so we don't work with any real curtains in this class however after you have completed this class you will understand how to hem shop bought curtains.
I'm afraid not - as we want to cram as many different types of curtain headers into the class as possible so you have a breadth of skills after the class.
Although we don't make a real set of curtains in the class we do have a handout that explains how to work out your fabric requirements for any window. And the tutor in class can also help you work this out if you have a particular window in mind!
