Fancy making your own roman blinds? Do you have some naked windows in the house that need some TLC? Look no further than our roman blind class where we will teach you how to make stunning bespoke romans blinds, that go perfectly with your decor!

This course is suitable for those who have completed the beginners course or who already have a bit of sewing experience. You don’t have to have made any soft furnishings before to get involved.

In this one day roman blind class you will learn how to make a fab roman blind up to 142cm wide. You will learn about all the different components, how to measure the window to calculate your materials and you will leave with a fabulous roman blind ready to dress your window!

What to bring:

  • Roman Blind Cassette
  • Outer fabric
  • Lining fabric
  • Basic sewing kit(scissors, unpick, pins etc)

We use cassette blind kits in class which we’ll email out a couple of recommendations to you upon booking. You can also buy more of the kits if you want to go home and make another one!

Please note it is your responsibility to make sure your blind is installed safely in your home. The cleat to wind the cord around must be at least 1.5m from the floor and the blind should threaded up with breakaway safety toggles. More info can be found here.

We don't have a massive range of fabric that is suitable for a roman blind unfortunately as most of our fabric is dressmaking related but we can suggest some shops you can get your fabric from if you get in touch!

We keep the blinds a maximum of 143cm wide because if it is any wider we end up having to sew multiple widths of fabric together and for your first blind we would like to avoid this. We can talk you through how to do it in the class tho!

Yes you will, we send you instructions on measuring the window and making your blind so you always have them to refer to even after you have completed the class.
