Dressmaking: The Zadie Jumpsuit
Our Sew-Alongs have thus far been reserved for our VIP members, but we’ve decided they’re too good to keep a secret!
In this sesh we will make the ICONIC Zadie Jumpsuit! This pattern by Paper Theory is a firm favourite with all the SC team and we think its the perfect summer make, from sitting in a beer garden to a day at the races, there really is a version for every occasion!
In this class we will take you through the construction of the Zadie including how to make your own bias tape (an optional extra) and share all our hints and tips along the way. This class is best for those who have at least completed our beginners class so some sewing experience is required.
The paper pattern is included in the price, we even have fabric kits available that have been tried and tested by our VIP members if you are unsure of what fabric to choose!
What to Bring:
We always recommend washing your fabric before cutting out your pattern so you will have to bring this along with you. If you are confident and want to pre-cut your fabric ahead of time then go for it! If not we can do this in class but there is a chance you might not get the garment completed in the time as everyone sews at a differnet pace. Your pattern will be ready for collection from the time of booking or we can post out (postage fees apply).
You are also required to bring your own sewing kit to class – scissors, pins, tape measure, seam ripper etc. If you don’t have any of these things we do have Complete Sewing Kits available here and other haberdashery items available here. We will have these ready for you at your class.
Can’t make any of our Sew-Along classes? Check out our VIP membership for exclusive access to a huge range of Sew-Alongs (not to mention other various treats)!
Ive been a dressmaker for over 20 years and cant imagine my life without it!
You'll usually find me teaching the beginners classes, in a me made outfit of course, as these are my absolute favourite classes to teach. I love hearing everyone at the start telling me how rubbish they are going to be and then their face at the end of a project that they have made, its the best feeling!
My favourite patterns are the Zadie jumpsuit and the Kielo wrap dress.
